in May. Kids get into overdrive as they pour outside. They don’t doubt
for a minute the arrival of summer and have no intention of wasting a
moment of its sunshine. Almost 80 degrees outside, Dad has cranked up
the grill. Mom has popped up the umbrella on a deck already accented
with flower pots and multihued blooms.

Like the butterfly from its cocoon, it’s our season to get out and explore.
Short beach vacations are great fun, but since most of your time is spent
at home, make the most of it and discover what’s around you here in
Cherokee. A neat tee-shirt, shorts and flip-flops and you’re ready for
Finding something new need not be costly. In fact, much is free to see or
has a small admission. Experience new places and things. Stay on vacation
all summer long by discovering what’s happening around you.
Visit Ball Ground and have lunch on the ‘Burger Bus.’ (Tom Cruise,
the actor, did.) While you’re there, go up a few blocks to meet Moose at
the ‘best little dog shop in Georgia.’ Stay for their ‘Movies in the Park’ and
spread out a blanket and snacks while you watch the films.
Have a casual lunch or candlelight dinner outside at one of the cafes and
restaurants in Woodstock. Plan to attend Freedom Fest, a Fourth of July
celebration hosted by the city. Fireworks displays and music are abundant
this year, so pick your favorite.
We invite you to read the Calendar of Events we have listed
within our pages. We have chosen some attractive options to get
you going. Here’s hoping you will fill your warm summer days
with warm memories, too.
Summer is officially declared yours to Enjoy!
